I am amateur photographer since getting into the hobby in 2015 after a personal medical issue. I would describe myself as being at the keen club photographer level. I am a member of the Stevenage Photographic Society since Sept 2015. Those in the club are beginning to recognise my images in competitions as I am developing a style of image, although I can’t really describe what that style is. With the help of club members, talks by experts at the club and with some courses from Going Digital I got an understanding of the basics. In the first year at the club, I got best beginner overall and for projected images, however not achieved that level of success in the advanced group, however this year I have been consistently in the top scores in the internal club competitions.

I am keen amateur photography and being doing it as serious hobby for the last 10 years, I am a member of local photography club where I take part in competitions internally and interclub. Currently I am working towards getting awards from the Photography Alliance of Great Britian (PAGB), I achieved the BPAGB in Nov 2024 and now working towards the CPAGB in prints. It has provided a creative outlet and relaxation from the day job taking my back to when I enjoyed being creative at school enjoying art and being in the photographic club.

I use OM Systems (Olympus) Micro Four Thirds equipment. I don’t have a particular genre that I concentrate on but tend towards nature and close-up/macro subjects, I do avoid taking images where there are identifiable people in such as street or portrait. I will have a go at most type of photographer and currently trying to do more creative photography and photoshop editing, more often I just rely on Lightroom and Denoise to edit my images.

I obtained my UK & Ireland Camera Club Photographic Group (UKICPG) Level 1 accreditation in March 2026 after gaining 10 acceptances into their exhibitions.
